//UPDATE – 2021!!!\\ http://thatwildeye.co.uk/uncategorized/update-2021/ http://thatwildeye.co.uk/uncategorized/update-2021/#respond Mon, 08 Mar 2021 10:36:41 +0000 http://thatwildeye.co.uk/?p=714 So……

It’s been a while – I’ve been taking photographs of more and more weddings over the last few years and I’ve neglected to really update my Blog – I’ve also wondered just how many people actually look at them anyway – Just incase there is someone reading this *hello* – Obviously we’ve had a nightmare of a year with the world and the outbreak of COVID 19 – This has especially had a impact in the wedding industry as many brides and grooms cancelled their weddings and have rebooked for either later this year or switched to next year! – Myself and the kiddos have moved house at the end of last Summer and we couldn’t be happier right now – It IS AN AMAZING place to live and we literally have a waterfall, beck, pond and woodland within a 2 minute walk! We had an amazing Christmas and we cannot wait for Summer (when hopefully I’ll be back taking more photographs and shooting weddings!) I did enjoy taking the odd photograph of the kiddos during our lockdown last year and this year so I’ll share them below – It’s been a tough year but I for one really enjoyed homeschooling and reconnecting with my children, life slowed down and allowed us to become incredibly close, I’ll forever be grateful =)

This girl has effortless style and she’s beautiful with it, a groom who’s massively into fitness, they have wonderful friends and family, speeches that had everyone in stitches, throw in the odd flashy Range Rover and masses amounts of sparkle and you have a day to remember!

May you have many years of happiness together!!

THE BRIDE GUIDE: Part 1 – PREP http://thatwildeye.co.uk/uncategorized/the-bride-guide-part-1-prep/ http://thatwildeye.co.uk/uncategorized/the-bride-guide-part-1-prep/#respond Tue, 15 Aug 2017 13:52:18 +0000 http://thatwildeye.co.uk/?p=374

Part 1 – PREPARATIONS

I’ve spent many a morning with the bride and her maids and the groom and groomsmen and I’ve got to say it’s one of my favourite parts of a whole wedding day – Anticipation in the air, excitement, nerves and an opportunity to photograph with a little extra time and consideration with my images – I can set up a shot with dresses and shoes and also photograph candid moments between the wedding party as they get dolled up ready for the ceremony –
I’ve decided to put together some tips for anyone who may be getting married from a photographer’s point of view – covering the ceremony / formal shots and the evening do in part 2, 3 & 4.

Before I’ve even arrived it’s a good time to consider if you want me to photograph the bridal preparations or head to the groom too. If local there’s plenty of time to visit both, if not and you’d like a photographer with the Groom all morning then do let me know – I can get my hands on a second photographer for the day/half day (at additional cost) – If I’m heading to see both the bride and groom then timings need to be spot on (or as good as they can be!) I understand that on a wedding day not everything goes to plan, it does help though that when I get to the groom he’s dressed and just doing the final touches and everyone is there who should be. I’m usually required back to photograph the bride…

I tend to arrive when hair and make-up arrive – capturing my bride as she’s in the hot seat – either having her hair or make-up done – It’s important to ask your stylist in what order they plan to beautify everyone and where the bride fits in – They may arrive very early but have a long list of other people to get sorted first and as much as I’m sure you adore your bridesmaids I like my day to begin with photographs of the bride…
Don’t forget to wear a top that buttons or can easily be pulled down once hair and make up are done you need something easy to take off.

Remember why you’re there. Though brides will often plan everything to the very last detail, try to relax if things don’t go to plan with so many aspects to a wedding day there’s bound to be something that doesn’t go the way you expected, if your Dad can’t find his shoe horn or your bridesmaids have miss matched shoes try to let it go, you’re about to embark on a new journey with the one person you love and ultimately that’s what the day is about.

Well hello there!! http://thatwildeye.co.uk/weddings/well-hello-there/ http://thatwildeye.co.uk/weddings/well-hello-there/#respond Tue, 07 Mar 2017 15:39:47 +0000 http://thatwildeye.co.uk/?p=270

Welcome to THAT WILD EYE – The brand new name for my wedding photography!! –

I decided mid last year that I wanted to look at re-branding my photography site – Not only because I want weddings and portrait photography to be separate I also wanted something that was a little more ‘ME’ I know my name can’t get any more ‘me’ but as I’m very soon no longer a ‘Beck’ I don’t think my maiden name of ‘Metcalfe’ has that certain je ne sais quoi!!

That Wild Eye became, and is my little baby – There’ll be new things happening all over the place, price increases in the near future as well as some personal development for myself – I’m adhering to the style of photography I LOVE – editing with the look that I LOVE – That old style film grain look, is just my cup of tea, it’s timeless and it’s me!

2017 marks the year for new beginnings not least because I’ll be welcoming my fourth (and last) baby into the world in the Summer (slap bang in the middle of wedding season – These things aren’t always able to be planned!) – I am devoted to my brides and grooms and anyone with you on your special day, I leave in the knowledge I’ve made some genuine friends and met some wonderful people, each and every time.

My LOGO? – I’m a BIG fan of tattoos and the work of Richard Dyminski from Blood Sweat & Tattoos in Colne (also photographing his wedding later this year) – I owe it to him for the logo, in a very similar style to my current tattoos that he designed for me he nailed the idea I had!!

Anyhow, I’ve got weddings to edit and work to be done! –

Thank you for your continued support and following me on my journey – much appreciated…

Erin XO
